Insulate your window & door headers

To create a thermal break in your window and door headers that will prevent heat loss and gain in the winter and summer, add 1/2" thick by 12" wide foiled fiberglass water heater insulation between the 2x12's that are used as headers above the windows and exterior doors. The insulation is installed during the framing of your new home and is available at your local supplier.

Some type of thermal break in your exterior headers is a must!!!!! Don't let your framer tell you otherwise.

A small investment in time and supplies will guarentee you a savings in your heating and cooling bill.
